1245_VINE_industries provides a high-speed wireless internet access point (WAP) for residents of and visitors to the historic Villa Elaine apartment building, located at 1245 Vine St., right in the middle of Hollywood.

Access to the wireless network is not free (as in beer), but for a small one-time fee, permanent access to the network for your laptop (PC/Mac/Linux/etc) is guaranteed.

what

1245_VINE_industries' wi-fi network is an extended-range wireless distribution system (WDS) comprising of 3 inter-connected nodes (2x Apple Airport base stations and 1x Linksys WRT45G base station). Our Internet connection speed is 12 Mbps, and is available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

All wi-fi protocols are supported: 802.11b & 802.11g.

PC? Mac? Linux? PDA or SmartPhone? You're covered. We support 'em all.

The network name is: "1245VINE PUBLIC".

The network is encrypted and password-protected, and access is available only to those individuals who have paid a small one-time fee. Upon payment, users are given the wi-fi network password and at that point, have full and unrestricted access to the Internet.
